Mod editor

This section explains the fields of the mod editor. There is a separate wiki page how to upload your mod to Steam workshop.

  • Name
The name of the mod that will be visible in Avofactory and Steam workshop. This may be changed even after the mod is published in workshop.
  • Mod ID (Steamid)
The internal ID of the mod. Must be equal to the mods Steam id if you uploaded the mod to the Steam workshop. When uploading the mod to Steam workshop this must be changed to the Steam ID. Also Avorion will identify your mod using this id, so you must not change once your mod is used in a game.
If the mod ID is not a Steam workshop id, it must not be a digit number. When this is numeric, Avofactory will handle it as a Steam workshop id.
  • Internal mod name
An internal identifier primarily used for debugging. Leave empty to auto fill this.
  • Mod Version
The mod version. Semantic Versioning recommanded: semver.org. Leaving this empty will deafult to 1.0.0. For singleplayer games you may leave this as is. When you uploaded your mod to Steam workshop you need to update the version everytime you update the mod. If unsure count the last number +1 everytime you update the mod in workshop. E.g. 1.0.9 changes to 1.0.10
  • Author
This will be displayed as mod author ingame. Does not have any effect to your mod in the Steam workshop.
  • Steam thumbnail
The main image shown in the Steam workshop. Required in order to upload your mod to Steam.

Below the fields there are some informations about the mod.

Workshop link

If the Mod ID is numeric, Avofactory expects the ID to match the workshop ID of your mod. Then a link to the Steam workshop will be visisble. It should point to the workshop page of your mod if you set the id correctly.

If you do not want to upload your mod to steam, you may just ignore this.
